James E. Thomas

Partner

James E. Thomas, founder and managing partner of Cityscape Residential, and partner in Hearthview Residential and C.E. Reeve Roofing, brings a strong background in all facets of design, real estate development and construction.

He has previously served as Executive Vice President of AMLI Residential Properties Trust, a NYSE-listed Real Estate Investment Trust, where he oversaw development and construction for the area from Colorado to Indiana. Prior to AMLI, Mr. Thomas was a partner at Trammell Crow Residential, also responsible for development and construction oversight throughout the lower Midwest. Prior to his association with TCR, Mr. Thomas was with the Kirkland Group and owned a consulting firm in Boston, MA and worked for an architectural firm in Kansas City, MO.

Mr. Thomas received a B.S. and an M. Arch from the School of Architecture and Planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an M.S. in Real Estate Development from M.I.T’s Center for Real Estate Development.

Currently, Mr. Thomas resides in Carmel, serving as an Executive Board member for Boy Scouting in central Indiana as well as the Governance Chairman of the Executive Committee for the Urban Land Institute of Indiana.

Brian K. Cranor

Partner

Brian K. Cranor, founder and managing partner of Cityscape Residential, LLC, Hearthview Residential, LLC and partner in C. E. Reeve Roofing, LLC, provides the capital market expertise which is vital to the success of Cityscape Residential and its developments.

Prior to his current ventures, Mr. Cranor was with AMLI Residential Properties Trust where he served in several senior management positions including Executive Vice President of AMLI Residential Properties Trust, AMLI Management Company and AMLI Institutional Advisors. Mr. Cranor managed Institutional Capital Market activity nationally for the firm. He was a member of the Corporate Executive Committee and Chaired AMLI’s Investment Committee. He joined AMLI in early 1998 following AMLI’s purchase of Trammell Crow Residential – Midwest (“TCR”). Mr. Cranor joined TCR in 1989 where he was a Partner and Chief Financial Officer for TCR‘s Midwest operations. Prior to his association with TCR, Mr. Cranor was a VP of Finance with Bethesda Maryland based Oxford Development Corporation and a senior tax accountant for Arthur Andersen & Company. Over the course of his career he has led the negotiations for several billion dollars of debt and equity financing with a multitude of institutional providers. He has also handled high profile individual transactions valued at more than $300 million.

Mr. Cranor received an undergraduate degree from Ball State University and an MS in Accounting from the University of Houston. He is a CPA, a member of the Indiana CPA Society and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is past Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Apartment Association of Indiana, currently serves on its Executive Committee and on the Board of Directors of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Indianapolis.

Kelli A. Lawrence

Partner

As one of the principal partners of Cityscape Residential, Ms. Lawrence has played a key role in the development of approximately 2500 multifamily units, valued around $400 million, in multiple markets throughout the Midwest. She previously worked in the public sector, serving as the long range planner for the City of Carmel, IN, where she worked on special planning districts, corridor and neighborhood plans, thoroughfare planning, and redevelopment areas.

Throughout her career, her accomplishments have been recognized in various media outlets, including Indianapolis Woman Magazine and multiple Indiana University Kelley School of Business publications, and by Ball State University.

Ms. Lawrence received her undergraduate degree from Ball State University and she received her MBA from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.  Ms. Lawrence is Chairman of the Riley Society Advisory Committee of the Riley Hospital Children’s Foundation, an active member of the Urban Land Institute, Multifamily Product Council member (Silver Flight), and currently serves as the Vice Chair for Mission Advancement for ULI Indiana.  Ms. Lawrence currently serves as the Treasurer for the Ball State Alumni Council.

Jim Kelliher

Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Kelliher serves as the Chief Financial Officer of Cityscape Residential and is also a partner in Hearthview Residential and C.E. Reeve Roofing and brings over 29 years of finance and accounting experience in his role.

As a finance and accounting officer, Mr. Kelliher has been involved in the development, construction and management of residential, retail, office and industrial real estate projects.  He has overseen the administrative, HR, IT and risk management divisions in various companies.

Jim received his BA in Economics from Wabash College and his MBA from Butler University.  He is a member of the Indiana CPA Society and is active as coach in youth sports.

Bill Woods

President of Construction

A highly-skilled construction expert, Mr. Woods has built more than 12,000 multifamily units throughout his career. As president of construction, Mr. Woods is responsible for leading all aspects of the building process and bringing conceptual ideas to reality.

Previously serving as vice president of construction for a top 40 multifamily builder, Mr. Woods has overseen multifamily projects representing up to $224 million in construction volume on an annual basis throughout his career. Holding multiple, unlimited general contracting licenses across several states, Mr. Woods has supervised construction projects from the Midwest through the Southeastern part of the United States. With extensive experience working with compliance and finance departments to ensure the proper execution of projects, Mr. Woods has also developed and managed estimating and accounting databases.

In addition to creating and actively managing safety programs and standard operating procedures for general policies, construction and accounting processes, and quality control, he also is an authorized trainer for the Trainer Program Study for the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA). In his personal time, Mr. Woods serves his community as an active member of Woodland Heights Christian Church Community and the Wayne County Farm Bureau Board.

Ryan Adams

Associate, Development and Construction

Ryan Adams brings more than 15 years of real estate experience through his accomplished background in architecture, construction, development, finance, and asset management.

Prior to joining Cityscape Residential, Mr. Adams served as the Associate Director of Development for Port KC, where he managed the rezoning and development efforts of Kansas City’s 55 acre Berkley Riverfront Development as well as assisted in redeveloping, property management and land development of over 1,000 acres of Port KC’s undeveloped land.  Previous to returning to KS, Mr. Adams spent 12 years in Chicago managing the design, development, planning and zoning in projects valued in excess of $350 million.

Ryan holds a Master’s Degree in Real Estate with an emphasis in Finance from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a degree in Architecture from the University of Kansas.  Currently he serves as Board Chair of Kansas City B-cycle, Board member of BikeWalkKC and is an active member of ULI Kansas City and National Preservation of Historic Trust.

Brian Evans

Associate, Development and Construction

Mr. Evans brings 15 years of experience in design, land development and project oversight to Cityscape Residential.  Supporting the development process throughout all phases of the project, including site acquisition, entitlements, financing, design, contracts, construction, and leasing/marketing, Mr. Evans focuses on the Kentucky market for the Company.

Prior to joining Cityscape, Mr. Evans oversaw the planning and development for a Louisville, Kentucky based private development company that developed and owned commercial, retail, and multi-family properties.  Prior to entering private development, Mr. Evans was project manager for Qk4, a consulting engineering firm headquartered in Louisville, providing planning/zoning and design engineering services for site development projects in Kentucky, Tennessee, and Ohio.

Brian received a B.S. in Civil Engineering and a Master of Engineering from the Speed Scientific School at the University of Louisville.  He is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Kentucky, a member of the Kentucky Society of Professional Engineers and the Young Real Estate Professionals of Louisville.

Rachel Rowland

Associate, Development and Construction

Rachel Rowland brings over 15 years of commercial real estate experience in acquisitions, dispositions, public and private financing, entitlement, development, construction, and asset management to Cityscape Residential.

Prior to joining Cityscape, Ms. Rowland was involved with the development of Walmart and grocery-anchored retail centers in Colorado, Texas, Missouri, Indiana and Illinois; apartment complexes in Colorado and Florida; single family phased residential in Colorado; and heavy highway and industrial construction projects in Ohio.

Ms. Rowland is a graduate of St. Louis University’s Real Estate & Community Development Program, Bachelor of Science in Paralegal Education and is a member of CREW-Kansas City.
