James E. Thomas, Jr.

James E. Thomas is founder and managing partner of Cityscape Residential, bringing a strong background in all facets of design, real estate development and construction.

James has previously served as Executive Vice President of AMLI Residential Properties Trust, a NYSE-listed Real Estate Investment Trust, where he oversaw development and construction for the area from Colorado to Indiana. Prior to AMLI, Mr. Thomas was a partner at Trammell Crow Residential, also responsible for development and construction oversight throughout the lower Midwest. Prior to his association with TCR, Mr. Thomas was with the Kirkland Group and owned a consulting firm in Boston, MA and worked for an architectural firm in Kansas City, MO.

James received a B.S. and an M. Arch from the School of Architecture and Planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an M.S. in Real Estate Development from M.I.T’s Center for Real Estate Development.

Currently, Mr. Thomas resides in Carmel, serving as an Executive Board member for Boy Scouting in central Indiana as well as the Governance Chairman of the Executive Committee for the Urban Land Institute of Indiana.

Brian K. Cranor

Brian K. Cranor is a founder and managing partner of Cityscape Residential, LLC, providing capital market expertise which is vital to the success of Cityscape Residential and its developments.

Prior to Mr. Cranor’s current ventures, he was with AMLI Residential Properties Trust where he served in several senior management positions including Executive Vice President of AMLI Residential Properties Trust, AMLI Management Company and AMLI Institutional Advisors. Mr. Cranor managed Institutional Capital Market activity nationally for the firm. He was a member of the Corporate Executive Committee and Chaired AMLI’s Investment Committee. He joined AMLI in early 1998 following AMLI’s purchase of Trammell Crow Residential – Midwest (“TCR”). Mr. Cranor joined TCR in 1989 where he was a Partner and Chief Financial Officer for TCR‘s Midwest operations. Prior to his association with TCR, Mr. Cranor was a VP of Finance with Bethesda Maryland based Oxford Development Corporation and a senior tax accountant for Arthur Andersen & Company. Over the course of his career he has led the negotiations for several billion dollars of debt and equity financing with a multitude of institutional providers. He has also handled high profile individual transactions valued at more than $300 million.

Mr. Cranor received an undergraduate degree from Ball State University and an MS in Accounting from the University of Houston.

He is a CPA, a member of the Indiana CPA Society and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is past Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Apartment Association of Indiana, currently serves on its Executive Committee and on the Board of Directors of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Indianapolis.


Derrick Cranor serves as a principle partner of Cityscape Residential and brings a strong background in all aspects of institutional multifamily development, acquisition and finance.

Prior to joining Cityscape, Mr. Cranor served as a Vice President for Monogram Residential Trust, a New York Stock Exchange traded REIT (NYSE: MORE). Most recently, Mr. Cranor oversaw Monogram acquisition and development sourcing activities on the West Coast, including Northern and Southern California.

Derrick received his Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Vanderbilt University and is a graduate of The Real Estate Council’s (TREC) Associate Leadership Council in Dallas. 

He is an active member of the Urban Land Institute and is a member of their Multifamily Product Council (Silver Flight).

Mr. Kelliher serves as the Chief Financial Officer of Cityscape Residential and brings over 29 years of finance and accounting experience in his role.

As a finance and accounting officer, Jim has been involved in the development, construction and management of residential, retail, office and industrial real estate projects.  He has overseen the administrative, HR, IT and risk management divisions in various companies.



Mike leads his team through all phases of project development and construction from concept to completion as well as leading its in-house property management group.

Mike brings over 30 years of accomplished experience in real estate development, construction, and architecture to the Cityscape team.  His background includes multifamily residential, government, institutional, commercial, mixed use, retail, and sports projects.  Prior to joining Cityscape, Mike served as the Senior Vice President of Construction and Real Estate Development for an Indianapolis-based real estate development company. 

Mike holds a Juris Doctor from Indiana University McKinney School of Law, a B.S. in Political Science from Ball State University, and an Associates in Architecture from Vincennes University, and maintains his law license in the state of Indiana. 

Mike is an adjunct professor for the Masters of Professional Studies in Real Estate Development program at the University of Indianapolis and serves as an Advisory Board member and a member of the Curriculum Committee.  He is an active member of the Indiana Subcontractor’s Association and serves on the Board of Directors for Junior Achievement of Central Indiana.

Ryan Adams brings more than 15 years of real estate experience through his accomplished background in architecture, construction, development, finance, and asset management.

Prior to joining Cityscape Residential, Ryan served as the Associate Director of

Development for Port KC, where he managed the rezoning and development efforts of Kansas City’s 55 acre Berkley Riverfront Development as well as assisted in redeveloping, property management and land development of over 1,000 acres of Port KC’s undeveloped land.  Previous to returning to KS, Ryan spent 12 years in Chicago managing the design, development, planning and zoning in projects valued in excess of $350 million.

Ryan holds a Master’s Degree in Real Estate with an emphasis in Finance from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a degree in Architecture from the University of Kansas. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Kentucky,

Brian is an active member of the Kentucky Society of Professional Engineers and the Young Real Estate Professionals of Louisville.

Brian brings 15 years of experience in design, land development and project oversight to Cityscape Residential. Supporting the development process throughout all phases of the project, including site acquisition, entitlements, financing, design, contracts, construction, and leasing/marketing, Brian focuses on the Kentucky market for the Company.

Prior to joining Cityscape, Brian oversaw the planning and development for a Louisville, Kentucky based private development company that developed and owned commercial, retail, and multi-family properties. Prior to entering private development, Brian was project manager for Qk4, a consulting engineering firm headquartered in Louisville, providing planning/zoning and design engineering services for site development projects in Kentucky, Tennessee, and Ohio.

Brian received a B.S. in Civil Engineering and a Master of Engineering from the Speed Scientific School at the University of Louisville. 

He is an active member of the Urban Land Institute and is a member of their Multifamily Product Council (Silver Flight).

MJ is responsible for the overall strategy, vision and culture of Praxm.

MJ brings several years of successful on-site and multi-site management experience to Praxm. She not only has a proven track record of maximizing performance at all levels of property and organizational operations, she also fosters individual and team achievements by providing dynamic engaged leadership, employee empowerment, recognition and reward. MJ also expects and provides involved exceptional customer service experiences in all components of property management.


MJ’s career has been highlighted being awarded Henderson Investors, Manager of the Year Award, The Indiana Apartment Association’s Grace McFadden Manager of the Year, and Barrett and Stokely Regional Manager of the Year Award. MJ received the 2011 IREM Rising Star Award and the Apartment Association of Southern Indiana’s Industry Expert of the Year Award. Most recently, MJ was awarded the 2015 CPM® of the Year Award
